Inside the canning line: speed, precision, and control

A walk through the production floor where up to 60,000 cans are filled and sealed every hour.

Inside the canning line: speed, precision, and control

The canning line is one of the busiest places in the THAICOM factory. At full capacity, it can process up to 60,000 cans per hour. Behind that number is a sequence of carefully controlled steps: rinsing, filling, seaming, pasteurising, coding, and packing.

Each station depends on the previous one. A small deviation in fill volume or seaming pressure can affect shelf life, taste, or appearance. That is why operators monitor the line continuously, and why quality checks are built into the process rather than saved for the end.

The line handles a variety of products — from energy drinks and electrolyte beverages to fruit juices and teas. Switching between products requires cleaning, calibration, and confirmation by the QC team before the next batch is approved.

For visitors, the line can look like a wall of moving metal. For the production team, it is a sequence of signals, measurements, and decisions that must stay within tolerance every minute of every shift.
